Mr. Matthew Genazzini
Executive Director of the Microinsurance Network
Matthew Genazzini is the Executive Director of the Microinsurance Network, bringing 16 years of experience in development finance and inclusive insurance.
He holds a BA in Contemporary History from the University of Sussex and an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of London. Before joining the Network, Matthew spent over a decade at ADA – Appui au Développement Autonome – where he led capacity-building and product diversification initiatives for financial institutions, with a particular focus on microinsurance.
In 2017, he headed ADA’s Technical Support for MFIs unit, delivering financial and technical assistance to strengthen institutions across the sector.
In 2020, he launched the Smallholder Safety Net Up-scaling Programme (SSNUP), a public–private development partnership that enhances the resilience of smallholder farmers by fostering investment in the agricultural sector. Matthew joined the board of the Microinsurance Network in 2019 and, in October 2024, was appointed Executive Director.
