Gloria Zvaravanhu is the Managing Director of Old Mutual Insurance Company in Zimbabwe and a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in financial management, strategic leadership, risk management, business law, and corporate governance. A Chartered Accountant (CA) with advanced degrees in Business Leadership, International Business Law, and Business Psychology, she is widely recognised for championing strong governance systems, disciplined stewardship, and sustainable business growth.

Her career reflects a deep commitment to financial stewardship, prudent risk management, and market development. Gloria has served as a non-executive director across listed, private, and public institutions in Zimbabwe and elsewhere in Africa, frequently as Audit Committee Chair. She has worked across both life and non-life insurance and has contributed to the sector through executive, non-executive, and advisory roles in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, and Angola.

Her influence extends across the African continent through leadership and professional contributions to the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA), the African Integrated Reporting Council (AIRC), and the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI), as well as regional insurance bodies.

Globally, Gloria contributes African perspectives to international governance and sustainability conversations through her roles on International Federation of Accountants Advisory Board and the UNEP FI Principles for Sustainable Insurance Board, where she represents Africa and the Middle East. She also serves on the board of a JSE- and London-listed mining group, where she chairs the Audit Committee.

A passionate mentor and leadership advocate, she is committed to advancing ethics, resilience, inclusion, and responsible stewardship. She has supported over 100 rising professionals in the past two years and is an alumna of the Fortune/US State Department Global Women’s Mentoring Program.
