Mr. Omar Cissé Sow
Agro-Economist Engineer | Senior Expert in Agricultural Insurance
A recognized expert in agricultural insurance (traditional and index-based), Omar Cissé Sow has over ten years of strategic experience at the National Agricultural Insurance Company of Senegal (CNAAS). An agricultural economist engineer and PhD candidate in rural economics specializing in risk management, he combines academic rigor with proven field expertise.
He began his career at the World Food Programme (WFP) on the R4 (Rural Resilience) initiative, thus consolidating his expertise in food security issues. Currently heading the Technical and Commercial Department of CNAAS since 2019, he oversees the national network and manages distribution strategies in collaboration with international donors (World Bank, USAID, IFAD). A committed leader, he also chairs the Association of Agricultural Engineers of Senegal (ADENSA). His vision is based on transforming inclusive insurance into a major lever for national food sovereignty.
